ok so it's hillary

yes hillary.  whoopi di doo yay.  we're so happy.  

now this is wishful thinking, but call me the eternal optimist.  maybe, just maybe, obama is putting hawks in place to push through a great, ie left, ie fair, agenda?  maybe he really does want peace in the middle east!  wouldn't that be odd for a U.S. president, who, whether you believe it or not, has the power to end the conflicts of Israel with the stroke of a pen.  because all anyone wants there is some semblance of justice, which has always opposed American policy.  of course don't tell Sarah Palin this unless you want to see a brain explode.

so .. will Obama do the right thing?  if yes, then there's no better person to send to Israel than someone they admire .. like Hillary.  but if the answer is no and if we're in for more of the same, like another Condi in new skin, well then .. that's Hillary too!  great pick!

news that hillary clinton is closer than ever to becoming secretary of state has got the us in an uproar.  it wasn't long ago when i got into an argument with hillary over the Israeli / Lebanese War of 2006.  i simply asked her to help stop the war, to which she replied that the "U.S. must support Israel's right to self defense".  it's always defense, isn't it?  that's why we have the biggest defense department in the world .. there is just soo much defending to do america!

is it too much to ask politicians to behave like adults and not schoolyard bullies?  what happened to wisdom in our leaders?  i think we could elect a bunch of children to congress and get better results.  of course  unless their last names are clinton.  or bush.  or bush.  or clinton.  or the rest of the pantheon of familiar names that Americans constantly applaud to constantly produce the same results .. war.

well well America

just when i thought we were all headed toward a bleak future in an oppressive militaristic country .. in walks a new president who can speak in complete sentences. how stunning! i must say America .. that wasn't lazy, fat or stupid at all.

but .. can he curb the American appetite for war? THAT 's the change i want, and one that probably won't come if the past 200 years is any indicator. but we can hope, can't we? yes we can ..
